The red stops you first. Against a form this restrained — low, cylindrical, three horizontal openings that distribute light in soft layered bands across a desk or bedside surface — that saturation reads as a statement rather than a finish. Made by hand in Misewell's Milwaukee, Wisconsin studio, in stoneware that keeps something of the earth in it despite the gloss.
The white is a different argument entirely. Where the red announces, the white accumulates — the gloss catching light along the rim, the slots throwing soft shadows against themselves. It is the kind of ceramic table lamp that rewards a room that is already paying attention.
